'Double Your Sunshine Dollars' Focuses on Differentiated Instruction SADDLE BROOK, N.J., April 13, 2007 – Peoples Education announced today the launch of its "Double Your Sunshine Dollars" Focused Instruction initiative, which will provide Florida's K-12 public and private school districts and schools with grants to supplement their investment in differentiated instruction programs.

Through its "Double Your Sunshine Dollars" program, Florida schools and school districts can apply for grants with a minimum application amount of $2,000 and Peoples Education will split the cost.  There is no application maximum. 

Peoples Education has pledged to give away as much as $3,000,000 through the "Double Your Sunshine Dollars" Program.

"This 'Double Your Sunshine Dollars' effort is part of our initiative to ensure all Florida students build reading strategies and mathematic skills," said Brian Beckwith, President and CEO of Peoples Education.  "We understand that many students have different needs and more than ever it is critical for educators to be able to differentiate instruction in the classroom to meet those needs. Our program allows these educators to in essence double their budget for this vital type of material."

Focused instruction programs target key areas in which many students need extra help: content-area reading, vocabulary and mathematics problem solving.

Double Your Sunshine Dollars awards will be available for any combination of Keep On Reading!; Word Explorer; and Count On It!  These programs can be used together or alone in all types of classrooms – small groups or whole classes, intervention programs, before- or after-school programs, and summer school programs.

Educators wishing to apply may download a simple Double Your Sunshine Dollars application at http://www.peopleseducation.com/doubleyourdollars or call the company at 1-800-822-1080 to request an application by mail, email or fax.  The application asks applicants to describe the how materials awarded through the program would be used and the goals for their program.  Prospective awardees will also be asked to describe unique aspects of their program and what other funding is available to support their program.

Applications for Double Your Sunshine Dollars must arrive at Peoples Education no later than Aug. 31, 2007. Applicants will be notified of the results of their application within two weeks of its receipt.
