CA to Continue to Support Education Programs for Low Income Teens

ISLANDIA, N.Y., July 1, 2008 – CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) today announced its continued commitment to The National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) to support the organization's mission to provide entrepreneurship education programs to young people from low-income communities. In an effort to help young business builders learn important business practice skills and unlock their entrepreneurial creativity, NFTE and CA together are hosting BizCamps across the U.S. and internationally. These educational programs consist of a two-week intensive day-camp that focuses on teaching teen entrepreneurs advanced business concepts and technology-based design and marketing strategies. At the completion of the camps, students compete for cash awards to fund their businesses.

In addition to the 2008 grant, CA has been partnering with NFTE since 2006 and has contributed $1 million to support 11 BizCamps, nationally and internationally, while also providing much needed funding to support the organization's expansion efforts. CA has also committed to support NFTE's annual dinner which will be held in April 2009 and will honor NFTE students and teachers, as well as entrepreneurial leaders from the business world.

"We are proud to show our continued support of NFTE and to help in providing young students with a hands-on opportunity to establish a foundation for their future careers in business," said Anne Marie Agnelli, vice president, communications and community relations, CA. "It is extremely rewarding to watch these bright and talented students progress and improve during these competitive and challenging sessions."

The program is designed for high school students ages 13-18 who are interested in entrepreneurship. During BizCamps, the students learn essential business conceptsincluding reading and using income statements, conducting market research and completing and presenting business plans. The last day of BizCamps culminates with the technology and business portfolio presentations judged by local business and government leaders, including CA executives, who review the content of each student's business plan and help them practice their presentations, answer questions, and offer tips to help prepare the students for competition.

"The NFTE/CA BizCamp was a way for me to learn and challenge myself," said Alice Tan, a 17 year old student who participated in the San Francisco BizCamp last summer. "I learned how to think, plan, and create a business, as well as how to use my business skills to give back to the community."

This year, CA made the $250,000 contribution to sponsor the BizCamp programs in the following locations:

·Miami: June 16-27, 2008

·San Francisco: July 14-25, 2008

  • New York City: August 4-15, 2008
  • Johannesburg, South Africa: September 2008
  • Chicago: April 6-10, 2009

"Our programs have been tremendously successful, reaching out to over 220,000 young people since 1982 in the United States and internationally," said Steve Mariotti, president, NFTE. "We are happy to partner with CA in our effort to educate youth on how to effectively run a business. Without this support we would not be able to transform lives and conquer the various hardships that many of our students face."
