RABAT: The fourth Islamic conference for education ministers is due to start in the Azeri capital Baku tomorrow with participation of leading figures representing 57 states including Kuwait. The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) said in a statement released yesterday that the leading officials would discuss means of supporting a strategy for the development of sciences and technology in the Islamic world, classification of Islamic universities and establishment of a website
for Muslim women scientists.

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education(MoE) has approved a decision allowing autistic students to study at intermediate schools. They will be awarded diplomas qualifying them for special privileges. In the same vein, the chairman of the ministry's private schools department said that before this, disabled students or pupils could only complete their education up to primary school level, with options for further study being limited, reported Al-Watan.

MPs Dr Faisal Al-Misalem, Dr Jamaan Al-Harbish, Dr Ali Al Omair, Abdullatif Al-Ameeri submitted a recommendation to the National Assembly which suggests that the last 10 days of the Ramadan month be declared as official holidays, with the cancellation of all the other holidays in the year except for Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, National and Liberation Day.
