KUWAIT: MP Khalaf Demitheer slammed the Minister of Education Nouriya Al-Sabeeh over a diplomat's misusing state funds. He questioned the legality of the ministry paying KD 5,000 as monthly rent towards the lease of a flat for a diplomat in Paris.
KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education(MoE) has approved a decision allowing autistic students to study at intermediate schools. They will be awarded diplomas qualifying them for special privileges. In the same vein, the chairman of the ministry's private schools department said that before this, disabled students or pupils could only complete their education up to primary school level, with options for further study being limited, reported Al-Watan.
MPs Dr Faisal Al-Misalem, Dr Jamaan Al-Harbish, Dr Ali Al Omair, Abdullatif Al-Ameeri submitted a recommendation to the National Assembly which suggests that the last 10 days of the Ramadan month be declared as official holidays, with the cancellation of all the other holidays in the year except for Eid Al-Fitr, Eid Al-Adha, National and Liberation Day.

Laptop for all students

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education, through its e-learning project, plans to provide a laptop for every school pupil, allowing them to submit homework by e-mail amongst other advantages. Also included in the e-learning project is a plan to introduce regulations requiring all teachers to prepare lessons electronically via computer.
KUWAIT: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has announced that it will not allow school pupils to carry school bags heavier than 500 grams starting this academic year. The new regulation was announced yesterday at a press conference held at MoE headquarters in Shuwaikh.
